Ally has big ambitions and is seeking its next strategic hire - an energetic, competitive, and entrepreneurial-minded Produce Operations Director who is ready to make their mark in the industry. The right candidate will leverage their industry experience, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial spirit in order to build our Produce Freight Division from the ground up, with the support and guidance of our leadership team. This role requires frequent collaboration with our sales team and customers as we look to convert more Power-Only opportunities. The right individual will be confident in their ability to develop and manage strong carrier relationships and ultimately, a Power-Only focused team of their own.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spearhead the development of the Produce Freight division
  • Oversee and manage all produce operations that run through the organization
  • Build out dynamic, dedicated 'Produce' operations team of your own (our Drayage department started in early 2022 and already has a 6+ person team)
  • Work and train current sales reps on produce operations
  • Internally market produce operations within the organization
  • Assist reps in selling to produce operations specific customers
  • Help build and maintain a high-performance up-tempo and positive environment where coaching is commonplace

  • Compensation includes a highly-competitive base salary with significant incentives based on departmental growth ($100K minimum 1st year earnings + lucrative departmental profit-share)

QUALIFICATIONS:

A successful candidate must possess the following traits/skills-

  • In depth understanding of how produce operations works, including key commodities and seasonality
  • Strong desire to build something unique and special, within a team environment
  • 3+ years freight brokerage experience
  • 1+ years in a produce freight focused role
  • Experience leading a team preferred
  • Passion for training & coaching others
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
